Macroscopic Description - Cecilia Satterwhite, Rachel Funk
The exterior is 50% covered in black, glassy fusion crust. The exposed surface is a darker gray matrix with light gray and white inclusions and a slightly gray matrix with white and dark gray inclusions. The fresh surface is a gray matrix with darker gray and white inclusions.
Thin Section Description (,2) - Cari Corrigan, Tim McCoy
The sections are dominated by coarse grained basaltic material which is unbrecciated and heavily shocked. Mineral compositions are homogeneous with orthopyroxene (Fs61Wo2-5), augite (Fs25Wo44), and plagioclase (An80-88Or1-4). The Fe/Mn ratio of the pyroxene is ~33. The paired meteorites are coarse-grained, shocked, unbrecciated eucrites. |
