Macroscopic Description - Kathleen McBride
Small patches of purplish fusion crust are visible on the exterior surface. The interior is a black powdery matrix with an oxidation rind. Small (mm sized) light colored chondrules are visible.
Thin Section Description (,4) - Tim McCoy, Linda Welzenbach
The section consists of a few small chondrules (up to 0.5 mm), mineral grains and CAIs set in a black matrix; rare metal and sulfide grains are present. Olivine compositions are Fa1-48, orthopyroxene is Fs5. Aqueous alteration of the matrix is substantial, but the chondrules are only modestly altered. The meteorite is a CM2 chondrite. |
