Macroscopic Description - Cecilia Satterwhite
The exterior has heavily fractured black fusion crust, areas exposed are black with white specks and some oxidation. The interior is a fine grained matrix with light specks and heavy evaporites along the fractures.
Thin Section Description (,2) - Cari Corrigan, Tim McCoy
The section consists of abundant small (up to 1 mm) chondrules, chondrule fragments and mineral grains in a dark, altered matrix. Many chondrules show flattening and perhaps a preferred orientation. Aqueous alteration of the matrix is substantial, but the chondrules are only modestly altered. Olivine compositions are Fa1-46. The meteorite is a CM2 chondrite. |
