Macroscopic Description - Rachel Funk
65% of the exterior is a black fusion crust with minor evaporites and fractures. The interior is a black matrix with evaporites around the outer edge and gray chondrules visible.
Thin Section Description (,2) - Cari Corrigan, Tim McCoy
The sections consist of a few small chondrules (up to 0.5 mm), mineral grains and CAIs set in a black matrix; rare metal and sulfide grains are present. Olivine compositions are Fa1-46, orthopyroxene is Fs1Wo1. Aqueous alteration of the matrix is substantial, but the chondrules are only modestly altered. The meteorite is a CM2 chondrite. |
