25% of the exterior surface is covered with brown/black fusion crust with oxidation haloes. The interior is rusty with metal. |
The section exhibits numerous small, well-defined chondrules (up to 2 mm) in a black matrix of fine-grained silicates, metal and troilite. Weak shock effects are present. Polysynthetically twinned pyroxene is abundant. The meteorite exhibits light terrestrial weathering. Silicates are unequilibrated; olivines range from Fa9-29, with most grains Fa18, and pyroxenes range from Fs2-14Wo0-1. This meteorite is an L3 chondrite (estimated subtype 3.8). |
Classification was updated to L3.8, as announced in AMN 34, no. 2. |
