Macroscopic Description - Kathleen McBride
Dark brown/black fusion crust with small glassy patches cover 95% of the exterior surface. The interior matrix is gray with white angular clasts <2mm in size.
Thin Section Description (,2) - Cari Corrigan, Andrew Beck
The section shows a groundmass of comminuted pyroxene and plagioclase (up to 0.5 mm) with diogenite and eucrite clasts. There is one 2.5 mm basaltic eucrite clast. Most of the pyroxene compositions range from Fs23-61Wo2-41 (most Wo2-10). This meteorite is a howardite. |
